Author and speaker Elizabeth Neumann brings a unique perspective to the immigration conversation. With a professional background in counterterrorism and homeland security, it was her faith that ultimately led her to reexamine her political views and align them with the biblical mandate to care for the widow, orphan, and sojourner.
Elizabeth says, “I’m passionate about the work I do because I’m passionate about caring for people. I entered government initially through politics – an idealistic wanna-be policy wonk who dreamed of helping all Americans build a better life for themselves and their children.”
Sensitive to the reality that we’re in a difficult season as a nation, she says her hope in these turbulent times isn’t in a political party or a government program. “My identity and hope are rooted and established as a beloved child of God, through Christ alone,” she says.
Our conversation with Elizabeth dives into hard questions about national security and immigration policy but never strays from doing it all through the lens of faith. Let’s hear what she has to say!
Elizabeth Neumann address:
- How has your faith influenced your views on immigration?
- How do you reconcile the need for national security with the Biblical imperative to care for vulnerable immigrants and refugees?
- If you could instantly implement one new policy in the immigration space, what would it be and why?
- How can everyday women become better informed and engaged in meaningful conversations about immigration?
