We’re excited to launch a new video series diving into Faith, Fear & Facts this election season! It can be difficult to know how to respond to the rhetoric of fear and the misinformation around issues that impact our immigrant brothers and sisters.
Following your compassion into this space can feel lonely. You may not know what to think about the issues you hear in the news. Perhaps you are looking for a way to look at the policies through a lens of faith. That’s why we’re looking to people of faith this season to help us answer hard questions, educate you on tough issues, and encourage you all along the way.
To kick off the series, we sat down with author Kaitlyn Schiess, a ThD student at Duke Divinity School studying political theology, ethics, and biblical interpretation, to explore how Christians can thoughtfully engage in politics AND care for our neighbors.
Hear Kaitlyn Schiess address:
- What does responsible political engagement look like for Christians?
- What are some ways Christians have responsibly used the Bible to shape American culture and politics?
- What are some ways Christians have misused or improperly interpreted the Bible to shape American culture and politics?
- At a time when our culture is more divided than ever, what is the most helpful way Christians should engage with others?
